the soil microbiome

produces healthy plants and nutrient dense food

The Soil Microbiome classe, a condensed version of Dr. Elaine Ingham’s SoilFoodWeb school, covers:

  • The Living Soil, 2 ½ hours. The who, what, when, where, why and how of soil microorganisms. A healthy soil microbiome can eliminate the need for fertilizers and toxic chemicals, decrease watering, produce nutrient dense foods, and suppress weeds, plant pests and diseases.

  • Compost, 1 hour. A basic class to learn how to maximize the types and amounts of beneficial soil organisms in compost.

  • Compost extract and application, 1 hour. How to apply compost and compost extract to your soil, seeds and plants.

  • Microscopy, 1 hour. Microscopic examination of compost and soil samples. (Bring a fresh sample to class.)

No charge for class, however, a favorite recipe, seeds, plants, used books, compost materials, or produce are gladly accepted.
